all the teas i tried!

yifang mountain tea

30% sugar, less ice

i could not taste much bitterness, to the point where i can even buy this without any sugar. it tastes fresh and smooth, almost chamomile tea-like in terms of lightness in flavor. especially good for very hot weather.

dot coffee

hojicha oat latte

it's nice! the hojicha has a roasty and nutty taste to it that isn't diminished too much by the oat milk. it's also smooth and not too sweet. for its size and price, though, i find it expensive...and i prefer stronger hojicha.

coco jasmine green tea

30% sugar, cold but no ice

my go-to whenever i crave for tea outside the house. the green tea is strong, but not astringent, not too bitter. has a good balance of jasmine aroma and green tea flavor. 60% green tea, 40% jasmine. so good.

chicha san chen black tea with special cream

less sugar, no ice

i'm not usually into milk tea, but this one is very tea-forward compared to other milk teas i tried in the past. so freaking good. the tea itself has a strong (but not bitter) malty, roasted, chocolate-like flavor that complements the milk well. with this being my first impression with chicha san chen, i was immediately looking forward to try out their other teas.

chicha san chen honey green tea

30% sugar, less ice

refreshing. no astringency, no bitterness, and i think i can buy this without sugar in the future; it's that good to me. has a subtle jasmine aroma, but the green tea takes over more. makes sense, since i didn't know they infuse their green teas with jasmine until the first time i tried this. great for the summer!

chatime jasmine green milk tea

30% sugar, less ice

the jasmine aroma was very powerful that even the milk could not overpower it. but because milk exists in the equation, i could barely taste the green tea. i hope chatime sells a version of this without milk.

chagee peach oolong brewed tea

slightly sweet, less ice

the peach flavor was there, but the oolong was a bit too astringent for my liking. i can still finish drinking it, though.

chagee osmanthus oolong brewed tea

slightly sweet, no ice

i can barely sense the osmanthus aroma. once again, the oolong was a bit too astringent for my liking. i would request for more sugar next time, but honestly i'd rather not get it since i really like when my teas only have a whisper of sweetness.

chagee boya jasmine green milk tea

slightly sweet, no ice

this was the first time i tried jasmine green tea. immediately fell in love with it. the balance of strong jasmine aroma and green tea is good.

chagee lapsang souchong tea latte

slightly sweet, hot

despite the ratio of milk and tea being 2:1, it still makes for a cozy rainytime drink. if i ignore the milk, the tea is roasty toasty, almost like coffee.

chagee glutinous green milk tea

slightly sweet, less ice

this marks the first time i tried chagee drinks. i don't know why but the milk overpowered the tea so much, i could only taste a hint of malty flavor from the glutinous rice grass.

chagee glutinous green brewed tea

slightly sweet, no ice

now this is 100% better than the one with milk. has only a teeny-tiny bit of astringency + bitterness. the green tea and glutinous rice grass flavor both balance each other so well. the maltiness from the glutinous rice grass elevated the freshness of the green tea...it's like drinking a treat.
